Windows Firewall Control 4.8

Windows Firewall Control adds features to the operating system’s default firewall utility. One of the advantages of using this tool is that it helps you avoid the difficulties involved in configuring Windows firewall. Thus, this program’s tabbed interface spares you the trouble of navigating back and forth through a series of system screens.

The program can be set to start along with the system. Then, by clicking on its icon at the task bar, you can easily change to other profiles or turn off all types of protection. In this respect, there are four profiles to choose from, which are High, Medium, Low and No Filtering. Since profiles are composed of rules, it’s good to know that the program lets you manage Windows firewall rules. Fortunately, it supports importing rules from external files as well as exporting them.

All in all, the application provides an easier way to manage Windows integrated firewall. Apart from those advantages already mentioned, the program also allows creating firewall rules for given executable files from the context menu. Finally, just bear in mind that this tool is not an actual firewall utility.
