Changing the filtering level can be done quickly and easily, just by selecting the preferred one from the menu shortcuts offered by the tray icon of the program. Though there are four default filtering modes, the program still allows creating, modifying and deleting Window Firewall rules as you like.

The four filtering modes include 'High Filtering' mode which blocks all connections, 'Medium Filtering' that blocks the outbound connections that do not match a rule, 'Low Filtering' that allows the outbound connections that do not match a rule but enables users to block programs that he or she doesn't want to initiate outbound connections, and 'No Filtering' mode which actually turns off the Windows Firewall completely.

Another cool thing about Windows Firewall Control is the fact that it will disable the ability of other programs to add Windows Firewall rules and exceptions, increasing the security of your system. There's even a “Lock” feature that can block access to settings of the program and of the Windows Firewall. Furthermore, it allows creating temporary rules which are automatically deleted when they expire or on program restart.
