This neat application enhances the functionality of the default Windows Firewall, making accessing and controlling its main functions a much easier task. It enables you to quickly and easily change the filtering level from the menu of a simple tray icon. There are four filtering modes which can be switched with just a mouse click. The High Filtering mode blocks all outbound and inbound connections, disabling all connections to and from your computer. The Medium Filtering blocks the outbound connections that do not match a rule. The Low Filtering allows the outbound connections that do not match a rule but enables the users to block the programs that he or she doesn't want to initiate outbound connections. There’s also a “No Filtering” mode which can be activated in order to quickly turn off the Windows Firewall completely.
I like a lot about this program the fact that it allows creating temporary rules which are automatically deleted when they expire or on program restart. It can also block all other applications from creating and adding firewall rules and exceptions. The rules can be managed with ease.
To sum it all up, Windows Firewall Control is truly useful for anyone in need of thorough and easy control over the Windows Firewall. I really like the flexibility that this application offers when it comes to changing the firewall's status and I recommend it with all my heart.
